Leavey Center/Sellinger Lounge and Hoya Court Renovation
Client: Georgetown University
As part of the new food service updates by Georgetown University, and in conjunction with the Barnes & Noble Bookstore renovation by Antunovich Associates, the team worked to reimagine and renovate the existing Hoya Court and Sellinger Lounge at the Leavey Center. The result was the creation of a more open and usable space for students to eat and study.
The design studied circulation patterns and provided increased visibility for the bookstore merchandising. LED lighting selections were an essential factor in creating an improved experience, energy savings, and lighting scene flexibility. The existing student coffee shop was removed and relocated to the bookstore’s second level to allow Sellinger Lounge to be a completely open space, providing various assembly and study zones.
