Heron

Location:Alexandria, Virginia
Client: May Riegler Properties

Project description:

Antunovich Associates is collaborating with May Riegler Properties to renovate the existing George Mason Hotel building at 699 Prince St., which had been converted to office use in the 1990s and will now revert to a boutique hotel. In addition to the existing building, a new four-story structure, 114 South Washington St, will be constructed to the north, which will have a more modern aesthetic to contrast against the Colonial Revival style of 699 Prince Street. Both buildings will operate hotel functions and achieve a total of 138 guestrooms. Amenities include a library lounge, meeting rooms, restaurant with show kitchen and café, ballroom, rooftop terrace, and a speakeasy. Between the two buildings will be a widened alley to provide an activated pedestrian and outdoor café experience as well as service access for the development and neighboring properties.
