Project description: Antunovich Associates collaborated with Belmont Village to design Belmont Village Senior Living, located in the famed Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago. This 120,500 SF facility is part of the Lincoln Common. It features 149 units made up of studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom residences that serve both assisted living and dementia levels of care. The structure has two levels of below-grade parking and seven stories above grade.

The exterior of the new structure is designed to resemble the historic Nellie Black building that previously resided on the site. Internally, communal spaces play a significant role in the design, allowing residents to partake in daily activities and collaborate in shared environments. These public spaces include a café, great room, fitness space, a multi-purpose screening area, library, an internal courtyard, and outdoor terraces. Belmont Village provides a high-end, intimate residential setting that meets all the needs of its residents. Its function required Antunovich Associates to navigate multiple national, state, and local building and health codes, as well as USGBC’s LEED program, under which the project is slated for Silver certification.
