25 East Oak
Client: Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation
25 East Oak Street is located in the center of the Rush and Oak Street retail corridor and served as an impetus for the revitalization of this shopping and entertainment district. Located in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood and adjacent to North Michigan Avenue, this four story 51,340 square foot building was originally built in 1989 for Barneys New York. With Barneys moving across the street to a new flagship store, Antunovich Associates collaborated with several luxury tenants in converting this building into a multi-tenant retail anchor on Oak Street. In keeping with the co-tenancy expected at this deluxe location, the building has been renovated to include such prominent retailers as Hermes of Paris, Giorgio Armani, Vera Wang, Suitsupply, Oliver Peoples and several others. As part of the building renovation, Antunovich Associates worked closely with the tenants, The Magnificent Mile Association, and the City of Chicago Planning Department in developing appropriate signage, awning and architectural detailing to maintain a cohesive and vibrant urban retail environment.
