This building was originally built in 1989 for Barneys New York. When Barneys moved across the street to a new flagship store, Antunovich Associates collaborated with several luxury tenants to convert 25 East Oak Street into a multi-tenant retail anchor in the center of Chicago's Rush and Oak Street retail corridor. In keeping with the co-tenancy expected at this deluxe location, the building has been renovated to include such prominent retailers as Hermes of Paris, Giorgio Armani, Vera Wang, Suitsupply, Oliver Peoples and several others. As part of the building renovation, Antunovich Associates worked closely with the tenants, The Magnificent Mile Association, and the City of Chicago Planning Department in developing appropriate signage, awning, and architectural detailing to maintain a cohesive and vibrant urban retail environment.
