FFC West Loop Club is located just west of the river in downtown Chicago, Illinois. FFC Presidential Towers is central to surrounding downtown offices, Ogilvie Transportation Center, and a busy retail district. The design covers two floors and opens with a glazed atrium facing Ogilvie Transportation Center. The club consists of 3 large workout spaces with several studios, including hot yoga and spin. Other major components include a 6-lane indoor lap pool, physical therapy space, café, and spa. A major highlight of the club is the outdoor pool, deck, and adjoining outdoor bar and lounge.
Taking advantage of a retail corridor, FFC’s spa and sports shop can be entered directly from the street. The club’s vibrant energy is felt through the double-height, transparent façade that highlights a feature stair set against birch plywood panels ascending to one of the large workout spaces. Glazing plays a vital role by incorporating fantastic city views and the centrally located sunning deck and exterior pool. All of the interior spaces have access to natural light and the interior glazing creates visual links from one activity space to another resulting in a club washed in natural light and achieving FFC’s goal to be the best club in Chicago.
