Antunovich Associates is collaborating with Douglas Development on an exciting adaptive re-use project, located in Downtown Buffalo. The project is a renovation and adaptive re-use of the Historic Former Statler Hotel. Located just to the north of Niagara Square near City Hall, The Statler Tower commands a presence in Buffalo like no other building. Its current function is an event space on the lower levels. The hotel portion in the tower floors has been abandoned. By adaptively re-using these floors, over 500 new Multi-Family apartments can be created. The lower of the building levels are in good condition and will be renovated to accommodate 600 parking spaces.
The exterior of the building, along with designated spaces within the buildings interior, will be restored consistent with requirements of the New York State Historic Preservation Office, and The National Park Service. In addition to the conversion to 500 Multi-Family Units, the upper floors of the old Hotel will be renovated to accommodate residential amenities and support spaces. The re-furnished Statler Hotel will become the new hub for downtown living and entertainment in Downtown Buffalo with the addition of the 500 apartments and the street-level commercial spaces.
